There They Go Again: Be Afraid, Very Afraid

Rep. Peter King vowedto make Thursday's congressional hearing on Islamic radicalization the first in a series, as he launched the high-profile inquiry amid heated criticism from religious and civil rights groups.

The New York Republican, in his opening statement, cited recent terror plots against the United States in defending his decision to hold the hearings. He suggested the hearings could help fulfill the committee's duty to "protect America from a terrorist attack" by examining the root of homegrown radicalism.

"This committee cannot live in denial," King said.

Once again the Republican's political strategy calls for building up the FEAR FACTOR in voters.  That's the only way they get elected is to make voters fear the unknown.  It is truely sad they feel it's ok to do this.

However, I truly don't believe it will work this time.  Why?  Because voters will be reminded of who was in charge when we had the worst terrorism attack in our history -- the Republican Party -- and what they chose to do besides protecting our nation -- go on vacation.

Former President George W Bush was on the Oprah show a while back discussing the daily onset of terrorism warnings AFTER we got hit on 9/11.  He didn't bother telling her about those his administration got BEFORE the 9/11 attack.

The 9/11 hearings proved that we were at the highest state of alert in our history between June and September 11th, 2001.  The administration was warned daily of possible terrorist plots, including that of planes flying into buildings, yet they all decided to go on vacation in August instead, including the heads of CIA, NSA and NIA.

So, my friends, Republicans won't get away with ignoring the facts of terroism and who best protected them during their terms in office.  It's just plain sad that the still feel the need to scare people.
